S'More Campers focus on phonics, reading fluency, comprehension, and writing each day of our camp.

High interest mentor texts that teach the character traits of belonging, curiosity, friendship, kindness, confidence, courage, and hope keep students engaged and work on improving reading stamina.

Our Scholastic reading curriculum, Tapping with Tiles, Fundations, classroom library books, and student materials are provided at no cost to students through community donations and grants.

Certified reading teachers work with groups of 10-12 students allowing for individual assessment of needs and remediation.

Reluctant readers gain self confidence and a love of reading!

Volunteers from local businesses, The Literacy Council, and Community Church read daily with students one on one.
