S'MORE Summer Reading Camp 2025
News for Campers

Our first day will be June 3oth! We are excited to meet new friends and welcome back past students! Camp will run (with the exception of July 4th) June 3oth to July 18th. The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 3:30. We have classrooms at Community Church of Hendersonville located at 381 W Main St.

There is no cost for camp. However, If you are able, we are asking families to donate individually wrapped , non-perishable snacks. Please bring them the first day of camp so we can inventory what we receive and see what needs to be purchased. Crackers, goldfish, pretzels, granola bars, fruit roll ups, and fruit cups are all great options. We’re expecting 60 campers this 8th year of camp!

Lunch is provided at no cost or your child may bring a lunch. See under menu tab for daily lunches.

Wear tennis shoes everyday for PE- No sandals, boots, backless shoes.

Drop off is between 8:15 -8:30.

Pick up is between 3:15 - 3:30.

Turn beside the McDonald's onto Executive Park Dr. to enter the back of the church parking lot. Drop off will be after you pull down as far as instructed by teachers, then exiting onto Stadium Dr.

Upon arrival you'll be given a car-rider name tag-please have this on display when picking up. There will also be some paperwork to review that needs to be returned if interested.

There is no before or after school care. Please pick up on time.

If students are tardy you will need to go into the church office so they can radio an adult to come down and meet your child. Also go through the office if you must pick up early. Attendance is important.

There is no transportation provided.

All supplies are provided. Your child may bring a backpack if they choose.

Students bring their own water bottle EVERY DAY.

Dress code is the same as school.

The air conditioned classrooms may be cold. Students may want to bring a sweatshirt.

Please share with your child, while it’s summer and we will have fun activities, we are also learning and have expectations for behavior.

Our day will begin with reading instruction and activities, followed by lunch and PE. In the afternoons we have guests providing enrichment activities, volunteers that come to read one on one with students, and computer time.
